Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6
This Scripture I have mulled over for, perhaps, five years. There are so many things one could apply this to. Such as: the actions of other people, our own actions, or why events happen.
When are we to trust in our own understanding? Are we supposed to trust in our own understanding?
One thing I do know is this: the more I trust in Him, the less I feel the need to control or understand my situation.
Perhaps we are supposed to focus on Him and the path He has put before us. What if we focused on Him and the excellent desires He has put on our hearts? (Philippians 4:8 & Psalm 37:4)
What if we trusted Him completely?
What if we acknowledged Him in all the things we do? Put Him first and foremost in what we do?
What if we expected Him to live up to His Word? Would we be disappointed?
Will we trust all of His Word, or just portions of it?
