28 Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. – Matthew 14:28-32 (NASB)

Today in church our interim pastor spoke about getting out of the boat. It was a great talk and made me think of “If You Want to Walk On Water…” by John Ortberg. But my focus was to the command Jesus gave: “Come!” and then “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

The thought came to mind that when God tells us to do something either He has already prepared us or will equip us along the way. We need to just follow His command. He will provide. We need to leave the exhaustive planning to Him and focus on the little bit He’s given us to do. We need to trust Him. We need to keep focused on Him.
